Remember when you became a first time mom or dad and all the feelings you had? It was probably a bag of mixed emotions, maybe it was just pure joy or the flip side…pure anxiety. Each of us had a different experience and learned so much that first year.
I thought it would be a great idea to have you all and me list some advice for a first time mom of twins, triplets, quads etc…
To make it easier list 3-4 HELPFUL HINTS from ONE OR ALL OF the following subjects::
breastfeeding • sleeping routine (for babies) • formula feeding • Taking care of mom • documenting the first year •soothing fussy babies. You can add your own category too!
Then you can mention 3 ITEMS that you highly suggest for a new mom of multiples for the first year. These suggestions and hints might intermingle like mine below.
Here I go with mine:
3 HELPFUL HINTS & ITEMS FOR NEW MOMS OF MULTIPLES:
• Take pictures, video and document your babies first year. I wish I had take more pics of the boys when they were newborn -3 months. I was so out of it and just barely getting through the new responsibility of taking care of two little babies that I only had enough umph to get through the day let alone think of snapping tons of pictures. Ask a family member or spouse to take pictures or videos for you. document the first year in a baby book and try to get those first year pics in an album right away or you’ll be like me and still have them all in your computer.
• Learn to Swaddle your babies. Now not all babies dig the swaddle but I’d say a majority do and it really makes a difference in calming the babies down. If you have a hard time swaddling with regular receiving blankets try the Swaddle Me Blankets
• My babies were formula fed and would get really fussy like clock work. What helped them and gave some relief was putting some GRIPE WATER in their formula.
