Last week we celebrated my husband’s birthday and I have to say for having two toddlers around it turned out pretty darn good.
How many of you cringe at the thought of taking your toddlers to a restaurant? Well, at this stage in my boys development it’s definitely an activity that I do not look forward to. I think the attention span of kids at this age is a few minutes or at least it just seems like it.
Our last trip to Red Robin I would characterize as “not fun” and I was ready to leave within 30 minutes of being there.

I believe God heard and answered my prayer that morning of my hubby’s birthday when i asked Him to help the boys be calm and cooperative on our outing to the restaurant.
I’m glad to report we had a relaxing AND enjoyable meal with our boys…Dylan even ate some chicken and had some french fries (more eating breakthrough for this kid!).
We even had time to enjoy a birthday sundae that the restaurant brought over to our table!
For the most part the kids stayed busy and entertained with just observing their surroundings and with the a few random items from home.
BTW…if you have a Red Robin Restaurant in your area you should sign up for their birthday club/email list and you’ll get a free meal on your birthday!
Later that evening we had some friends come over and I made a Mexican dinner for us to enjoy along with chocolate cake and ice cream for dessert.
