“21 Days to a Better You”, “An organized you in 30 days”, :the Ultimate stay at home mom challenge”….OK, so I made these themes up! Well, they probably exist somewhere out there in cyber world.
How about “30 days to a buffer spiritual you”? Ok , I’ll stop now.
I’m kinda poking fun at all the self-improvement challenges that are out there in the blogging world right now.
I personally have started some of the monthly challenges that are going on in some of the Christian cirlces that I’m connected to. The only problem is I’ll start them but then I kinda let them fizzle out as I let other things take priority.
There’s my problem right there I’ll start something but then I tend to not follow through to it’s completion.
Maybe I need to makeup my own personal monthly challenge in bite size doable chunks kinda like…
“Say no to sugar for 24 hours challenge” or “the Four Hour No Dishes in the Sink Challenge” or maybe my most personal challenge of “5 minutes in the Bathroom without kids”. What do you think???
All kidding aside the two areas in my life where i really need to be invest time and stick to is my daily time with God, and maintaining a daily cleaning schedule.
When I spend time with God my perspective on life is clearer and I have a lot more peace in my heart and life. I receive benefits from those daily fill up sessions reading the bible and talking to God. Right now the thought of reading the bible in 90 days is overwhelming but reading a section of verses in a day or one chapter a day is more doable.
I know God accepts me for me and not for what I do for Him. I think it’s easy to get caught up in a busy bee mentality of spiritual works.
I think the 30 Day challenges that are out there help provide individuals focus and end goal. I know I was making fun of them but I know they do help people but I don’t want to start a bunch of those challenges and then not follow through to their completion.
One day at a time, maybe even one challenge at a time for me.
