When I entered the blogging world I had absolutely no idea how big it was and how many people blogged in general. I have really enjoy reading others blogs and other mom’s and dad’s experiences, challenges and advice. Through blogging I have also found so many great helps with learning graphic design and tutorials on tweaking my blog- which I love doing!
Today though was a reminder of how there are some people in the blogging world that are deceitful and out to steal from other bloggers. I read a post on Facebook regarding a mom who had some pictures of her kids downloaded by another blogger- something that I’m sure happens an awful lot . Well the bad part is that this anonymous blogger used the pictures “she” downloaded and used them on her blog claiming the kids in the pictures as her own. That’s some freaky stuff! It made me feel really uncomfortable about the information I put on my blog and the pictures I post.
If any of you have any type of stat counter on your blog you know that it’s possible to see what readers are downloading from your blog. I am always baffled why strangers would want to download pics of my family.
On occassion I will upload my pics to Photobucket which is usually a deterent from others downloading ( I have most of my albums set to private). Yet on occassion when I am writing a quick post I just upload my pics straight to blogger….only problem is that anyone can click on the pic and then right click and save.
I want to tighten up somethings here on my blog regarding what I share and pictures I upload. If you notice changes you will know it’s because I want to protect what I put on here.
There is a part of me that is considering to go private with this blog…I’m still weighing my options.
Would love to hear your feedback and what you do on your blog.
