Great thought-provoking question over at Multiples and More this week. The question of the week is “Does it get easier?” I have to answer the question with both yes and no.
Each stage of development has it’s own challenges with multiples. It was definitely difficult when the boys were newborns and we only got a couple of hours of sleep here and there.
I remember a friend telling me how her little one didn’t sleep through the night till 3 months old and I just crumbled at the thought of going through THREE WHOLE MONTHS OF LITTLE TO NO SLEEP!
So in my opinion it does get easier when you get from one stage to the next BUT then when you start a a completely different stage with completely new challenges. My biggest dislike is when i bump into other moms of multiples and they answer my question “does it get easier” with alot of negativity.
It’s one thing when your little bundles of joy are immobile but as soon as those sweeties learn how to crawl it’s a whole new ball game. As they grow they learn to push the boundaries and as parents we have to readjust the way we do things. So as parents we have to change the way we handle things around the household.
For me having my boys develop and become a little more independent has been a great thing- I don’t feel like I have to have a constant eye on them. I feel comfortable letting them play in another room in our house without having to hover over them each second.
There are so many different stages with raising kids, each stage different, each child different and our approaches different. I definitely depend on God for wisdom, strength and patience and my hubby for support.
