One day we knew it was bound to happen…a visit to the ER for of our boys. Thankfully Dylan ended up being ok but I don’t think any parent ever wants to take that trip with their kids if it all possible.
Dylan and Caden have a nightly ritual of running up and down the hallway chasing each other…they’ve had occassional collisions but nothing major.
Friday night we heard Dylan crying in the hallway and knew he was really hurt just from the sound of his cry. My husband grabbed him and at first we didn’t see anything wrong with him, so I just held Dylan close to my chest and tried to soothe him with lots of love.
After a minute or so of holding him he lifted his head up and then I saw a bump the size of a walnut on the right side of his head. I freaked out to myself and called for my husband to rush over to see what I was seeing.
Being the newbie parents that we still are we both looked at each other and knew for our piece of mind we needed to take Dylan to the ER.
I felt bad for Caden because he could sense that something was going on and started crying too.
I stayed home with Caden while my hubby drove Dylan to the hospital.
Thankfully their wait wasn’t too long and Dylan checked out to be ok. The Dr just advised us to keep an eye on him and do the usual stuff for someone who has a head injury.
To top it off Dylan was already getting sick that day with a runny nose/sore throat….that night Dylan seemed to be up every 1-2 hours complaining of a sore throat.
The boys are still recovering from the runny nose/sore throat stuff/fever…and today both of them have had no appetite.
I’m praying the boys heal up quickly as they are having their first speech therapy visit on Friday. Pray for us!
