It’s nice to have a place where I can share things and get feedback from other parents.Right now my husband and I are frustrated and clueless regarding how we can get our boys to eat regular food. When I say “regular” I’m referring to anything that IS NOT baby food. Our boys are just not interested in trying any other types of foods beyond baby food, bread, cheerios or Gerber Crunchies.
Caden seems pretty content eating baby food and would probably continue till he was a teenager if I let him. Dylan on the other hand seems to be getting tired of baby food, right now as I type I can hear Dylan crying as his dad is trying to feed him his baby food. The frustration comes because although he may be tired of it he won’t try other foods beyond what I’ve listed. We tried tonight with some spaghetti- they spit it out.
They boys have a check up coming up after Thanksgiving and I am hoping that the doctor can offer some type of help regarding this. I’m guessing it’s a texture issue and I wonder if they are gonna need some type of food therapy of sorts. I can’t help but get envious when I hear and see other kids (younger than my boys) eating all types of foods. Where did I go wrong? I just feel like it’s my fault somehow…somewhere along the way I didn’t do something right I guess. I can only claim ignorance because of these being my first children.
Should I stop the baby food altogether and hope they will eventually eat other foods? I dread the thought of having to do that and I’m not even sure if that’s the right thing to do.
Say a prayer for this mom and her hubby. We’re beyond knowing what to do.
