Several years I ago I taught preschool for little ones who were 3-4.5 years old. I loved every minute of it. There’s something about that age that is so awesome and loveable. I remember how the 2 year-old class scared me, I truly realized how the teachers who taught those adorable but sometimes difficult two-year olds were super gifted ladies.
One of the teachers I knew back in the day was named Miss Carole, she had Montessori training and was so great at teaching her 2 year old students fine motor skills, putting items back where they go and helping them to follow simple directions.
Now that i have my own 2-year olds I am learning how these little guys are able to soak in and learn new concepts. Now as some of you may know already my boys aren’t huge talkers yet, but recently these little two year olds have been amazing their mom with their ability to recognize and repeat the alphabet.
We purchased two V-Tech Tote N’ Go Laptops for them for their 2nd Birthday and there are tons of learning games on it. For the most part the boys have just been pushing buttons and seeing and hearing the computer respond to their actions.

Just the other day my husband and I were watching Dylan as he was playing on his laptop. The computer said, “Find the letter C” – Dylan pushed a button and the computer responded “Correct! Now find the letter S!” Dylan pushes a button again and the computer says, “Correct..” This went on for 9 more letters and for each request Dylan had the correct answer. Coincidence? I don’t think so.
The boys have also been repeating the letter and letter sounds that the computer makes.
It’s really cool to see them understand and grasp things-I am eager to have my boys take off in their language development and we are taking it a day a time with them.
