Now I know that I could take this overboard so bear with me as I share some of these insights- and remember to take it all with a grain of salt.
1. Sometimes God says “No” to the immediate want because He sees our greater need.
2. Sometimes we need to look back to remember where we’ve come from and how much we’ve grown.
Just today I was looking at a video we took of the boys 7 months ago when they were barely 1 year old. The video shows the boys walking really carefully and wobbly through our house. It’s amazing to see the changes and improvements the boys have made in walking since that video was taken.
Sometimes we have difficulty realizing and seeing the growth and change that’s happened in our lives spiritually, socially, physicaly etc… until we take the time to look back from where we started. Somethings in life take dilligence, commitment and practice. We will see the changes in ourselves as long as we are commited to growth.
3. God’s love and patience with His kids is bigger than you or I.
I am amazed when I look at my kids that God has chosen me to be their mom. I am a person who has a short temper and I am constantly challenged by my kids in their quest for independence coupled with their neediness.
It’s in those moments that I realize how patient and loving of a God I serve. Though my tantrums, neediness and every behavior in between God is there, loving me, helping me and showing me that He doesn’t give up on me.
I love that God speaks to me in the simpliest of terms and life experiences. He is good like that!
