It’s been way too long since my last post and I’m sorry about that. This is the last day of 2012….hard to believe. Each year zooms by it seems and this last year did just that. If I had to categorize 2012 in one word it would be “Strength”- a puzzling word isn’t it? 2012 has been a year of learning, challenge, trusting God, difficulties in parenting, disappointment. The reason I would choose “strength” as my word for 2012 is because throughout the year I (and my hubby) have been learning to rely on God’s strength through our own weaknesses. We have struggled with where our boys are developmentally, gotten mad, frustrated, and cried. Yet we have had to get up from that emotional place and say not our strength God but YOUR strength in us will get us through. We’re taking this curveball in life and saying God we’ll do what it takes to help our boys, to help their growth in all areas, to educate ourselves and to be the godly parents you’ve called us to be. It’s never perfect, we still have hard days but the source of our strength is in the One who loves us with a perfect love and who cares about us more than we could ever imagine. So we look to 2013 and the word that comes to mind is “HOPE”- HOPE in God for His strength to continue in our lives, HOPE that the boys will continue to see breakthroughs in their development and HOPE that God always completes the work HE begins in our lives. One of my commitments to God this new year is to be a prayer warrior….someone who stands for others needs (and my own personal needs as well). I’m believing for breakthrough for so many that need it. We’re believing for healing for my friend Claudia who has been battling cancer, we’re believing for great breakthrough with the boys communication, and we’re praying for financial breakthroughs as well. I’m circling these needs in prayer and not backing down till we see the breakthrough. I’m starting a prayer group in my home 2 days a week. Right now it’s just me praying but I know God is going to bring others too. I look forward to 2013….how about you? What is God speaking to your heart for you personally, for your family or community? Happy New year dear friends and family we love you much and hope to more consistent with sharing our lives with you here on this blog!
