I love my Mom! She’s someone I can always talk to and she’s always there to speak God’s promises to me and remind me that I need to trust Him for every area of my life. When I first had my boys my mom was my sounding board and shoulder to cry on. Having her 300 or so miles away from me wasn’t easy but being able to listen to hear voice on the phone seemed to help me make it through my baptism into motherhood,.
This last weekend my mom had symptoms of a heart attack. Sure enough they found severe blockage in one of her main arteries which required an angioplasty as well as 2 stents. Just when we thought everything was all better, the doctors found that her heart wasn’t beating right and the decision to put in a pacemaker had to be made. It was a scary time for my mom and still is a little unsettling for her. I’m so glad I can try to be there for her and offer her my ear and my shoulder in her time of need.
The love & support of family is so important…we see it in a phone call, a meal, a prayer or in just being there for someone. My mom and dad are definetely loved. I know God has is hand on them and our entire family.
Having to take care of our kids and attend to their needs can make it hard to be there for Mom 100%, but I’m doing the best I can. I know mom understands.
