I think many of us are guilty of taking tons of photos of our kids and then leaving them on our computer. We think…”one day I’ll take the time to backup a copy or put them in an album.” Someday never seems to come because of the busyness of each day. For me, I fear that I might lose all those wonderful memories because I didn’t take the time to make an album or make physical copies of those pics. Then I will forever live in regret…not a good thing.
So because of the question of the week at Multiples and More, about Photo Organization, I am going to get off my butt and actually make an effort this week to begin the process of backing up pictures that haven’t been backed up yet and even have some printed.
My Photo Storage System:
Unfortunately I store a majority of my photos on my computer. I have them separated in several main Catergory folders and within main folder I keep subfolders that either order them by year taken and/or special event: My main folders are:
Dating (pics before we got married)
At the end of last year I started backing up my pics on DVD-R discs but I haven’t backed up any since January 2010. I also keep some hard copies in a photobox that I hope someday will make it into an album.
Kodak Share site
I try to put pictures of the boys on Kodak.com regularly for my family to see and purchase if they would like to. My in-laws especially love it because they only get to see the boys once or twice a year.
I use Kodak because I have their software of my computer that makes it easy to order and share pics online.
Do you scrapbook?
My pics from 2004 and prior are in scrapbooks that I made. Right now I don’t have alot of space to leave my scrapbook gear out so I’ve been creating some digital albums through Picaboo. Picaboo has tons of backgrounds to choose from and great layouts you can use as well. I haven’t ordered them yet but I will eventually.
Since today is 8-1 we were asked to go to our eighth album in our “Pictures” files, and post the first picture in it on our blog. Here’s a pic from when the boys were dedicated at our home church.
