Boys started back to preschool this week 5 days a week from 10am -2pm. To tell you the truth they were ready to head back and get back to real structure. The boys are in a autistic preschool class that is specifically designed to help them with where they’re at. The class size is small and they have about 5 aides that assist the teacher.
The boys have a visual schedule that each day they have to go to and see what they need to do for the day. They’re even getting time on the big potty (something we are just starting at home too). We’re still not potty trained yet but we’re hoping to get there soon especially with the reinforcement they’re getting at school. Teachers have told me that the boys are participating in group time more and really enjoy music time.
So with all this extra time on my hands without the boys from 10-2 it’s been wonderful. I do miss the boys and taking care of them but I also love my ME time! So right now I’m trying to finish up with designs commitments I have booked through October but after that I’m done with designing for a little while. I really have felt God speaking to my heart about dedicating my time to praying for my boys and some other needs we have going on right now in our lives. What inspired this was a book that a friend recommended to me recently. The book is called The Circlemaker by Mark Batterson. It’s about prayer and it really has stirred my heart. I’ve always felt like prayer was to be a big part of my life and at times I’ve left that calling and allowed myself to become consumed with life and my own pursuits. Yet this book is just stirring in me that I need to be praying like never before not only for my family but for others as well.
I really recommend this book to those of you who are going through tough times and really need a miracle.
