Dylan and Caden will begin their 4th week of therapy for their developmental delays next week. It’s been great to witness the boys acclimate to this new part of their daily schedule and bond with their teacher/therapist.
That first session was full of tears & protests. It was emotionally overwhelming for all of us but repeated sessions the boys seem are getting used to the whole process.
The therapists work with the boys on some basic playskills and through that interaction helping them to develop in various areas of development like: receptive communication, expressive communication, language, fine & gross motor skills.
They provide activities that help them with their sensorimotor development as well to help them in areas of: exploration and manipulation, object relationships, concept formation and other aspects of cognitive development.
Their teachers/therapists are reporting that the boys are improving in their skills and we’ve even started to notice the boys beginning to attempt to say new words. The words are not always clear to us but from the repetitive nature and intonation of their voice we know they are trying to communicate verbally.
Slowly but surely it seems like the boys are coming along . I am so grateful for the opportunity they have to receive these therapy sessions.
Thanks to all you who continue to encourage this mama with your prayers and kind words. I am so thankful for you all!
