It’s been a lengthy and trying adventure (dilemma) in the tale of my two picky eaters– Dylan and Caden.
I recognize my role in this up and down experience with them and acknowledge that I could have done things differently. But with pointing fingers aside I happy to announce that we are slowly but surely and thankfully seeing a little progress in the eating department:
Here are some new things Dylan has started to eat:
- Pizza with cheese
- Chicken cut up in small bite size pieces
- Hamburger meat
- French fries
- potatoes cubes
- Spanish Rice
- Mashed Potatoes
We are pulling and praying for Caden to come out of his one food fixation….bread. Caden still likes to eat Sweet Potato or Fruit with his oatmeal so we continue to give him that with his meals.
We also realize that we need to start rounding out these new likings of Dylan’s with some more veggies and fruit and we are slowly getting there.
The interesting thing I have noticed with Dylan is that he’s more apt to try new foods that are on my or my husband’s dinner plate. We don’t have a dining room table right now so when we eat it’s usually me and my hubby on the couch and the boys usually eat either in their high chairs before or after we eat.
Our plan is to purchase a dining room table in the next few weeks and I am interested to see how that changes the boys interest in food. There is something about them seeing the food on our plates that peaks their appetite.
So that’s the latest update in the tale of my two picky eaters!
