“God can do anything, you know—-far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, His spirit deeply and gently within us.”
Ephesians 3:20 (The Message)
There are so many times when I forget how big God is and how He is able to blow away my low expectations of Him or my life’s circumstances. I’ve seen God do some pretty amazing things in my life and in my family’s life, yet it’s easy to go back to small thinking and allow circumstances to affect how I view God in my life and the challenges we face.
I really believe that our attitude is greatly affected by what we feed our minds. The times I struggle most with a negative outlook on life is when I have had little or no time with God. When I take the time to really take care of my inner person- the part of me that connects to God- I find hope even in the midst of hard times and comfort in the midst of pain. It’s not that everything in life goes perfectly when I put God first, but having that time with God helps my perspective to be fueled with hope and purpose.
I don’t always know how God is going to meet certain needs we have as a family, but I do know that He said in scripture, that He would never leave or forsake me. I have hope in God to make a way for us even in situations that I can’t see a way out of.
Each day I’m learning to trust God more and more. He uses all the circumstances we go through to teach us about His character.
